After several days of conviction, Barcelona midfielder, Arthur Melo, has finally agreed to move to Juventus.

The Brazilian who joined the Blaugrana from Gremio for 31 million Euros had insisted on staying at the Camp Nou despite not getting regular playing time. Barcelona’s coach Quique Setien, who was hoping that speculations surrounding his future are sorted, will be more relaxed now. The manager had, after their 1-0 win over Athletico Bilbao, said the speculation is affecting the game of the 24-year-old Brazilian.

However, in a sudden change on Thursday afternoon, Arthur agreed on terms with the Serie A giant – a move that will see Miralem Pjanic go the other way. The confirmation was reported by Sky Sport Italia,  and other notable sources.

With an agreement reached, Arthur is expected to put pen to paper and sign a five-year deal with the current Serie A champions and earned around  €5.2m per season plus bonuses once the final details are ironed out.

Juventus will also pay €10m for the midfielder that was valued at €70m. This is because the €60m plus bonuses of the fee are covered by Pjanic, who had agreed on personal terms with Barca some times ago.

The deal is expected to go through as an announcement could be made in the summer, and both clubs are expected to be happy as their balance sheets will benefit. So, all is left now is for both Juventus and Barcelona to iron out the final details of the Arthur Melo-Miralem Pjanic exchange.

As this has finally been put to bed by both clubs, the pair can now focus and respect their contracts with their respective clubs for the remainder of this campaign after the restart.

Juventus coach, Maurizio Sarri will be delighted with the arrival of Arthur because he had long wanted a specialist, deep-lying midfielder in his squad.
