Inter Milan fans have reacted to the postponement of their Serie A clash against Sassuolo as a joke.

The postponement was due to positive coronavirus cases recorded in the camp of the visiting team. Inter also announced two cases of COVID on Thursday.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the match could be rescheduled for April 7. Samir Handanovic, alongside Danilo D’Ambrosio, Stefan de Vrij, and Matias Vecino, is among the positive cases in Inter’s camp.

Due to the intervention of the health authority in Milan, training was suspended at Pinetina to avoid further spread of the dreaded virus.

The ban has also impacted players from both teams, as they have also been banned from traveling for international duty ahead of the coming international break.

It could be recalled that the Juventus-Napoli clash was affected by positive cases as the Pertonipei failed to show up at the Allianz Stadium. But this is a different development as everyone has known their fate already.

Although Juventus were awarded a 3-0 win and Napoli docked one point before the decision was overturned by the CONI Collegio di Garanzia in December, making the game to be rescheduled.

The fans reacted that teams with similar cases have been forced to play and see no reason for the postponement.

This development is either way for Inter that is currently topping the Italian Serie A table. They will get more rest ahead of others but could suffer burnout when they start playing the rescheduled game.

However, it is believed that just one rescheduled game won’t really affect them since they are mainly focused on the league after exiting all other tournaments.

This will, however, give the likes of AC Milan, Juventus, and Atalanta to reduce the gap between them and the other top four teams.

On the part of the Rossoneri, winning their next clash against Fiorentina will reduce the gap between them and Inter to six, piling other pressure on the Nerazzurri to win their game.
