Inter Milan are currently sweating over the fitness of striker RomeluLukaku. The team’s medical department is working round the clock to ensure the team’s current best player is fit it in time for the Italian Serie A clash against Atalanta this weekend.

Both teams are coming into the game on the back of defeats. Antonio Conte’s men surely missed Lukaku during their 3-2 loss against Real Madrid in the midweek Champions League clash while Liverpool completely swept past Atalanta that is having their second stint in the European clubs highest competition.

Due to a muscle strain, the Belgian striker missed the last two matches for the Nerazzurri- a 2-2 draw against Parma and 3-2 loss against Madrid at the Alfredo Di Stefano Stadium. He reportedly sustained the injury against Shakhtar Donetsk last week in a Champions League clash that ended in a goalless draw.

According to reports, Lukaku has returned to training after missing the games against Parma and Real Madrid. All they are doing is to speed up his recovery ahead of the clash with high-scoring side.

According to Calciomercato.com, Lukaku trained separately from his colleague at Appiano Gentile as he steps up his recovery.

According to reliable sources,  Inter’s medical staff would decide if he is fit to play against Atalanta after a decisive test is conducted between today and Saturday.

Conte will be hoping that his highest goalscorer is back on the pitch, having scored seven goals from seven games this season.

Inter has not been having a good run as their struggle continues. The Nerazzurri has recorded just one win in seven games. So, they are going into a big game at the Gewiss Stadium being down on form.

Incase Lukaku misses out, Lautaro Martinez, who scored and assisted one against Madrid, will have to be relied on again.

However, due to the inconsistent performance of the Argentine, the Beneamata are desperate to ensure Lukaku returns to full fitness as soon as possible.
