Pioli issue Sassulo warning says AC Milan won’t slow down

After recording three straight wins over Lazio, Juventus and Parma, AC Milan manager,  Stefano Pioli has warned his next opponent, Sassuolo, that his team still have plenty of ‘fuel in its tank.

The two clubs will be meeting at Mapei Stadium tonight. They appeared to be two of Serie A’s inform teams, with only one defeat recorded since the restart.

Speaking at a press conference ahead of the encounter,  Pioli, who explained why Zlatan Ibrahimovic was ‘angry’ in their last game, said the game would require maximum attention, respect, and focus their hosts.

While nothing that three of Sassuolo’s forwards have scored more than ten goals each, the former Fiorentina boss said having played hard games to a high standard this season, they are capabale of getting another result.

He further said the team was able to relax after killing off the game against Bologna early. He said this gave them the chance to make some extra changes as other players recharge their batteries.

The manager who further stated that the mental state of the team his great added that he would make his final selection after the training.

Pioli further noted that Milan has put in some top performances both presently and for the future said the team is aware of its individual and collective quality that can be used to win games.

Unperturbed about the future, Pioli said all he cares about is the team’s present form, adding that their engine will burn until August 2 when they will play their last Serie A  match.

AC Milan is fighting for Europa League place at least, and they currently occupy the seventh spot on 56 points, two adrift of Roma holding the first Europa League plays. They are also on the same points with Napoli, but the Pertonopei has superior goals scored difference.

Speaking on the team’s current position on the log, Pioli said they had worked hard in getting there, adding that they will show that they are on track with the four remaining games.

Speaking on the reason Ibrahimovic was not happy when substituted against Bologna, Pioli said the Swedish’s presence and position on the pitch give the team lots of solutions. Therefore, he was angry because he wanted to play the whole duration and wanted to score goals.

He lauded him for giving his all to the team, especially in his last two games, which he said were of high quality.

While stating that the striker has been a point of reference for the team, he said he is needed him from the start.
