Tokyo 2020: Team Kenya members start trooping into pre-Olympics bubble camp

The men’s rugby team will the final squad to report final team to report to the pre-Tokyo Olympics bubble camp at the Kasarani Stadium, checking in on Thursday, June 24th.

The other disciplines begun to report on Monday, June 21st, the women’s rugby outfit being the first to check in. Immediately the teams report, the players are taken through covid-19 testing.

Taekwondo followed suit on Tuesday with Athletics due on Wednesday – 23rd June.

Volleyball women and boxing were already in camp at Kenyatta University and Kasarani respectively.

The camp is designed as a strict bubble to keep athletes safe from possible coronavirus contraction, while closely monitoring their health to ensure full compliance with Tokyo requirements ahead of entry into Japan.

There will be no break before departure for Kurume City, the first batch of the team set to leave Nairobi on 8th July.
