According to reports in Germany, Borussia Dortmund defender Lukasz Piszczek has confirmed his stay at the club by signing a new contract that will keep him at the club till at least a year. However, no official statement has been made yet, but an announcement is imminent.
Last month, The club, Executive director Micheal Zorc revealed that the club is ready to hand Piszczek a new deal, and as it stands now, it seems all is set for the defender to complete his 11th-year stay with the Black and yellow outfit.
Piszczek left Hertha Berlin to join Dortmund in the 2010/11 season and has since ever been consistent and loyal to the club in the previous few decades.
His steady performances have seen him become a vital member of the team even though he will be close to his mid-thirties soon.
The Polish international this season has made over 30 appearances across all competitions with four assists and goals to his name. His recent position at the back has made the defense line stong due to the back three system deployed by Lucien Favre.
He hasn’t shown any signs of slowing down as he proved times without number that he still has what it takes to play at the highest level. So this comes as good news for both parties as Dortmund will continue to benefit from his experience, and Piszczek able to offer his undivided loyalty and services to the club.
