La Liga speeding up League return with teams’ training

Spain’s top-flight, La Liga, has started steps to restarting the league after the Spanish government gave it the go ahead to restart the league.

One of the first steps is to ensure that clubsides start training in earnest. Sports and footballing activities were placed on hold indefinitely in Spain in March due to the rapid spread of coronavirus.

A detailed protocol has been created by La Liga towards the return to training by the clubsides with the proper health procedures are observed.

The country’s top division has created a detailed protocol for the return to training so proper health safeguards.

Also, the La Liga intends to restart the league with matches to be executed without fans in the stands while there are concerns that fans could gather outside the stadiums although it is expected that the La Liga guards against that.

Meanwhile, return to training by professional teams is expected to happen in “phase zero”, the first phase of spain’s four-phase plan to lifting the country’s lockdown which will start from the 4th of May till the 11th of May.

Training will initially start from individual trainings and then to group trainings before the full team training will be allowed based on the La Liga protocol.

Furthermore, there will be daily testing for staff, coaches and players while this testing will be done before individual training starts.

UEFA most recently gave out a May 25 deadline for European leagues to inform the governing body of its intention to carry on the league or cancel the season.

Already, the Belgian top flight, Dutch top two divisions and most recently, the French top two divisions were cancelled for the season.

The government of France on Tuesday, banned sporting events until September irrespective of fans’ presence or otherwise.

The La Liga still has 11 round of games to play and Barcelona and real Madrid are in the top two positions in that order with two points separating them.
