Paris 7s Pools released

Pools for the final round of the 2018/19 World 7s Series – Paris 7s, set for 1 and 2 June at Stade Jean-Bouin in France have been released.

The tournament will determine if Kenya 7s will maintain its position as core team in the World 7s Series. Kenya 7s have been placed in Pool B which has London 7s runners-up Australia, African Giants South Africa and Wales -who are also battling to keep their top-flight status.

In Pool A London 7s Champions Fiji will square it out with Ireland, Argentina and England while Pool C has USA who are seeking to win the overall World 7s Series title. Canada,  Samoa, and Spain are also in the pool.

The final Pool has France, New Zealand, Scotland and relegation threaten Japan. Kenya will need to finish above Japan to avoid going down.

In 2018, Kenya finished 13 in the tournament. It was after finishing third in the Pool A which had Fiji, New Zealand and Samoa. On day two Shujaa dropped to 13th place semis after a defeat to Argentina.

The would pick up themselves to beat Russia and Scotland in the 13th place semis and finals. South Africa won the Main Cup beating England 24-14.
