Kenya international defender Joseph Okumu has become the third Kenyan to sign for Belgium giants Gent, after Robert Mambo (2000) and John Mo Muiruri (2001).
Okumu completed his record-breaking KSh400 million move after signing a four-year deal from Swedish side IF Elfsborg where he had a stellar season attracting interest Scotland giants Rangers and Celtic as well as French outfits Reims and Lorient.
Okumu has also featured for Chemelil Sugar, where he started his professional Freecareer before moving to State Stars and AFC Ann Arbor as well as Real Monarchs before joining Elfsborg.
